Ramey and I as small younglings
My sister and I had a great childhood. We were lucky enough to have awesome parents. I thought we were pretty normal going up, but the older I got, I realized we were strange. In a good way of course! We did not have a lot of money, but somehow my parents always found ways to entertain us and provide us with what we needed. I will forever cherish our Griswold vacations, awesomely morbid Halloween parties, supporting parents with sports and extra curricular activities, getting money to "blow" when income tax time came around and many other memories that I don't have enough space to write about. Nothing cracks me up more than remembering specific moments in my childhood. Now I will admit that sometimes my "memories" are a little more interesting than what probably actually happened, but funny nonetheless. Examples are when I would dress like ET and wave at people driving by. We made many tapes of us singing and thought we were professionals. (These tapes also included burping and passing gas). When Ramey and I used to fight...I would pull her long hair and she would scratch me with her nails. Mom used to scare us to death in making us think that I would give her headaches for life and she would give me blood poisoning. She taught me how to ride a bike (by pushing me in to the basketball goal). We used to sleep in the same bed, but my "magic shoes" would slam into the wall and keep her up at night. (I wore bracess on my legs because my feet turned in.) Ramey was the girlie one that played with dolls and Barbies (I drew tattoos on them and cut their hair. Sometimes I would even bite off their nose. Oddly enough later in life, I collected them.) She was the dancer, the cheerleader (I did a few years, but loved basketball more), and she cared about fashion, hair, etc. I was the tomboy who played with stompers, He-Man & She-Ra dolls, Star Wars toys, played sports, etc...you get the point. Ramey would always lay out in the sun with her sun-in or lemon juice, rubbing herself down with tanning oil or butter. I would play in the pool, then get out and sing and dance with the water hose as my microphone. She would pass out and have seizures, while I stayed in the hospital with asthma. I was always the more rebellious and difficult one, with Ramey being the calmer nicer one who never got in trouble. (That has changed by the way. She is as hateful as me now lol.) We went through a few years of boys, her not wanting me to tag along everywhere and developing our own friendships in the world, but through it all, we managed to stay the best of friends. I'm sure we kept our parents busy, but they can't say they were ever bored. Through all the ups, downs, mistakes and craziness, we love each other. I can't imagine having a better family (all family included).
Now fast forward many years and I am married with 3 beautiful children. They drive me crazy, but I love them more than anything. I can't wait to share with everyone the life we live. I just hope that I can instill half of the love and importance of family and friends in my children, as our parents did. I know most blogging is normally about one consistent subject. My life is not consistent and there is no way that I could find one thing to blog about. I plan to tell of past, present and future. I plan to let you know the talents I possess and the not so talented attempts at things. As I stated before, I like to host parties, attend events, attempt to be crafty and artsy. Many of these things come out great, and many lose my interest or I realize I should not be doing them. I love family, friends, movies, books and sports. And I hope you enjoy our blog!
Below are my loves...Don't let them fool you with their cuteness...They can be evil lol :)
Me and my husband, Daren. He thinks I'm strange, but loves me anyway :)
